Temporary reproductions
Under the Copyright Act, temporary reproductions made as part of the technical process of making or receiving a communication will not infringe copyright, provided the communication itself is not an infringement of copyright. This exception covers reproductions, which are made when people browse on the Internet.
However, things such as caching a web site onto a schools intranet are not likely to be sufficiently temporary or technical for the exception to apply. If you want to do this, and it is not expressly permitted on the web site or covered by the statutory licences, you should contact the web site owner to seek permission.
