Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS)

The members of Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS) are music publishers. AMCOS licenses certain recording of music and lyrics, and photocopying of sheet music by schools. AMCOS may also assist in identifying and finding owners of copyright in music and lyrics. It does not administer any part of the educational copying scheme in the Act. By special arrangement, APRA (the Australian Performing Right Association) administers the AMCOS licences relating to reproduction of musical works.
